Love really is a battlefield…
Monroe Bower has no time for love. Except when it’s her job. She works as a matchmaker at the elite dating service Cupid’s Arrow. Instead of dreaming about marriage and babies like other thirty-somethings, she’s got her mind on climbing the corporate ladder. Any man in her life is purely functional—like her coworker-with-benefits Zachary Stabler—but when a chance for promotion arrives, even he doesn’t make the cut. Workplace situationships will only get in the way of her promotion, and she’s determined to be the chosen one.
As the only male matchmaker at Cupid’s Arrow, Zachary Stabler feels like he hasn’t yet found his calling. He’s waiting until something better comes along, which seems to be his life’s motto. In the meantime, he’s cool hitting up the gym, hanging with friends, and playing the field. His latest arrangement is one he enjoys, his coworker Monroe Bower all about keeping things casual. Then, out of the blue, she suddenly drops him. It shouldn’t bother him until he realizes that it does. Unable to figure out why, he decides he won’t get mad. He’ll get even.
With the promotion on the line, it’s all-out workplace warfare between Monroe and Zachary. As the waged war escalates, it leads them to the discovery: what happens when it’s not the job they really want, but each other?
